The purpose of the strategic plan is to provide recommendations on actions and activities for the The Provo River Watershed Council in the short-term (5 years) and long-term (20 years) to protect the water quality in the Provo River Watershed. The goal of the Strategic planning exercise was to review The Provo River Watershed Council’s current activities, understand current and future threats to water quality in the watershed, identify gaps where these threats are not addressed, and create a plan for addressing these gaps.
The Strategic Plan prioritizes the top ten potential threats to water quality within the defined areas of the Provo River Watershed. Each threat was assessed by the subwatershed to establish risk levels. The threats were then ranked and prioritized. This plan also includes detailed recommendations for management activities to address the impact of the highest-ranked threats.
